Quantock Barns - Accommodation
Quantock Barns have been sympathetically converted from farm buildings to provide luxury self-catering accommodation for large groups. 7 bedrooms sleep 14, with room for up to 10 more guests in 4 further self-contained suites (see Extra Beds). The barns are set around a central courtyard with outdoor seating and a large barbecue area; all yours are a private hot tub and a games room. This is great for group holidays and family celebrations, giving people their own space when they need it, and the room to gather together for happy sociable times.
Follow the path from the car park to Quantock Barns; round to the right is The Wagon House, the main barn, which sleeps 4 in 2 ensuite bedrooms. Downstairs is a large light and airy open plan living space with a well-equipped kitchen/dining area to one end; the dining table seats 14 so you can all get together here for happy celebration feasts; if you hire private caterers (see Extras) to come and create a scrumptious dinner or serve you canapes, they can work in the kitchen whilst you all mingle at the other end of the room or if the weather is good, out in the courtyard.
To the other end of the open plan space there’s a big corner sofa and a wood-burner for a cosy glow in the colder months. French doors open onto a courtyard where there’s a private hot tub and outdoor furniture. Upstairs off a galleried landing are 2 bedrooms with super king beds and TVs; Bedroom 1 has a free-standing bath within the bedroom as well as an ensuite shower room, Bedroom 2 has a bathroom with a spa bath and separate shower.
On the ground floor beneath the Wagon House are Wagon Wheel and Double Tree, 2 separate suites both sleeping 2 guests in super king beds. Each has an ensuite shower room, and is open plan with a small kitchen area. Interiors are modern throughout Quantock Barns, finished in neutral tones that give a very calm ambience for relaxing days and restful nights.
Next to The Wagon House is the games room, which has a big U-shaped sofa, a widescreen TV and a pool table; to one end there’s a handy kitchen area, and off to the right, a WC. Then there’s Shire Horse suite, tucked away in the corner of the courtyard, sleeping 2 in zip and link beds (super king or twin) and with an ensuite wet room. Next to this are Paddock 1 and Paddock 2, each having private access from the courtyard; both sleep 2 in zip and link beds (super king or twin), and have ensuite shower rooms. Between these two rooms is The Grazing Paddock, a shared living space with comfy seating and a kitchen area. This suite is equally well suited to a family or two couples.
The large courtyard is paved and gravelled, with raised flower beds and plenty of room for you all to gather together for breakfast in the sunshine, for lunch outdoors, a leisurely barbecue or evening cocktails. There’s ample seating and a large built-in barbecue with space each side for prepping and serving. While away the hours out there relaxing and chatting, catching up – just the kind of thing that large group stays are made of.
To the side of the courtyard are 4 further suites that can be booked at an extra charge each. 3 of them sleep 2 and the other sleeps 4. All have ensuite facilities, super king beds and an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and comfy seating.
