Axmouth, Devon
If you're out and about exploring on your large group holiday in Devon or Somerset, have a drive through the pretty little village of Axmouth, close to Seaton on the estuary of the River Axe. With a backdrop of steep wooded hills, a main street lined with attractive thatched cottages and a church dating back to Norman times, it's all picture-postcard perfect. You can stroll down to the estuary, and look out over the marshes, popular with birdwatchers, or watch the sunset reflected in the waters whilst you tuck into fish and chips.
Park up and walk out along the quiet harbour past Chris's Cafe, hire a kayak or go sea fishing. Take the dog for a stroll along the quiet pebbly beach at Axmouth Harbour and when you’ve finished, head back to the Ship Inn for something to eat.
