If you go to Barnstaple when you're on your large group holidays in North Devon don’t miss the Pannier Market because it’s a wonderful, all a-bustle with charm and a very lively atmosphere. It’s one of Britain’s biggest indoor markets with something for everyone; local traders are there early in the morning setting up their stalls to sell all manner of delights from fresh produce, breads and pies, flowers and crafts, prints and pictures, gifts and clothes. Every second Sunday of the month there’s a food market showcasing local producers and artisans, with live music and food at the café or on the go. Go and soak it all up, fill your baskets.
