Bath Skyline Walk, Bath, Somerset
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city on the Bath Skyline Walk, a 6 mile trail through ancient woods and flower-filled meadows where you can hear birds chirruping and streams gently murmuring. In the summer the meadows are a haven for butterflies, bees and insects and you can book to go on a guided walk; in the summer holidays they do bug hunts and wild art in the Woodland Play Area which is a great spot for families. Take a detour to Prior Park and find a quiet spot for a picnic, enjoy the incredible views over Bath.
There aren’t any designated facilities along the walk but you can stop off at the Tea Shed in Prior Park, at Widcombe Village or the café at The American Museum, though be aware that normal admission charges will apply.
You’ll need sensible footwear as the terrain is mixed with steps and a stile, steep hills and a rocky uneven section. Take your dog of course.
