Bleadon, Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset

Bleadon is a rather pretty village lying at the western fringes of The Mendip Hills in Somerset, set in beautiful countryside that's rich in flora and fauna, with some utterly gorgeous far reaching views across the landscape and a backdrop of steeply rising slopes. If you stop here for lunch or are passing through whilst on your walking break or large family holiday in Somerset, have a wander, it’s actually rather lovely.

Bleadon has a thriving community with a shop and post office, two garages, a hairdressers, three pubs, and near the village hall, a play area and a car park. Lots of footpaths lead from the village for walks of all lengths along the River Axe or up into the hills. They say the Sunday roast at The Queens Arms is good.

Interesting point: ‘Bleadon Man’ who died over 2,000 years ago was discovered during an archaeological dig here.
