Boat Trips at Dapdune Wharf, Guildford, Surrey
Ah, what better than a leisurely ride along an English waterway, which is exactly what you get with the boat trips at Dapdune Wharf in Guildford in the open season. There are three electric boats (you’ll be surprised how quiet they are) that take up to 12 passengers and are manned by volunteer skippers who will tell you all about the history of the areas you glide past on your trip along the River Wey Navigation. If you’re not inclined to pay attention to such things, well, you’ll be perfectly happy being distracted by the bright blue-green damselflies that dance about in the air, and whatever else you might spot, maybe a kingfisher if you're lucky.
Trips run Thursday to Monday and all week throughout August, leaving roughly on the hour and lasting about 40 minutes. You can only book from the ticket hut on the day, so if there’s a big group of you get there early or you might not be able to all go together. No dogs.
