Claremont Landscape Garden, Esher, Surrey
People come to Claremont Landscape Garden just outside of Esher in Surrey to escape the woes and worries of every day life and to take time out in the gorgeous surroundings of this 18th century landscaped garden. And no wonder - there is all the charm and features you’d expect in a garden of this era; a serpentine lake, a grotto, a Camellia Terrace and even a tower, the Belvedere Tower, which is open to the public on selected days.
There’s a play area for the kids at Claremont, and a chance to have a go at builsing a den at Badger’s Basecamp. If they go to the Thatched Cottage they can have fun dressing up in Victorian clothes and playing with toys from those times. Then, in true NT style there’s a café where you can have a nice cup of tea and a piece of freshly baked cake, which you have to agree, is a very good way to round off your visit here.
