Culmstock Beacon, Culmstock, Cullompton, Devon
It’s quite a steep climb, but well worth it for the views; Culmstock Beacon is at the most westerly point of the Blackdown Hills so you get a spectacular panoramic vista that stretches to the Quantock Hills and Dartmoor. At the top there’s a flint ‘beehive’ where the beacon would have been sited and lit to warn of an impending Spanish invasion. Take the dog for a walk there, you’ll love it.
