Dartmouth, Devon
Right on the banks of the River Dart, with a backdrop of gorgeous open fields and rolling wooded hills, Dartmouth is quite a delight to visit anytime of year. The town has a great community spirit, with several festivals and events throughout the year, and plenty of little streets and alleys to explore where you’ll find a range of shops, both high street names and independent boutiques and retailers – don’t miss Saveurs French bakery. Take the time to stroll around the harbour where the more adventurous can try kayaking, or the whole family can hop on a boat for a trip up the River Dart where, if you’re lucky, you’ll spot seals and otters. When you get back settle down in one of the many eateries for a bite to eat – try Bayard's Cove Inn, the Seahorse Restaurant or the Royal Castle Hotel.
