Ducky’s Beach Café, Beer, Devon
There’s a lovely atmosphere at Ducky's Beach Cafe, close to the shore in the peaceful fishing village of Beer on the Jurassic Coast. The cafe has been run by the same family for years, service if friendly and the food is the good, honest homemade kind, with no fuss and no frills. It's a nice place to be, with the backdrop of cliffs and in the summer, brightly painted beach huts and stripey deckchairs for hire. If it's a baking hot day, sit beneath the red parasols and watch the sun sparkling on the sea and everyone going about their day bathing, rockpooling and generally having a lovely time on the beach. If you're there the right time of day, you'll see fishermen coming in with their catch.
Tuck into a Full English breakfast, served all day, a Plougman’s lunch, cream tea with homemade scones, or what Ducky's are well known for - a crab sandwich and a bowl of chips. If you ever want prooft that sometimes, the simplest things are the best, here it is.
Open Easter-Oct 8.30 am-4.00 pm every day
