Dustings - Accommodation
Winding Somerset lanes take you to Dustings; park at the front of the house and step into the wide hallway. This luxury large group holiday home has been brought right into the 21st century with solid oak doors, window frames and timbers. There's pine flooring throughout the ground floor with heating that can be controlled individually in each room. Upstairs is fully carpeted, with the practical exception of the bathrooms.
Off to the right is Bedroom 2, with zip and link beds (super king or twin); a door leads to the ensuite shower room which can also be accessed from the hall. At the end of the hallway is the large kitchen/dining room with high open rafters; a sturdy table seats 16 - perfect for everyone to gather round for happy mealtimes and celebrations. This room is super sociable – just imagine… drinks in hand, nibbles on the central island, then cook and chat, have a dance. French doors open onto the patio where you can soak in the hot tub and have a barbecue.
The farmhouse style kitchen is very well-equipped with a 4 oven oil fired Aga, but if that's not your thing, there’s also a double oven electric range. And there's no need to worry about the washing up, just load the two dishwashers, set them to work and go off and put your feet up. Off the kitchen there's a utility room, perfect for when you've been for a tramp across the fields and you come back with muddy boots, wet coats and dirty paws - you can all get cleaned up in here. It's also the perfect place for dogs to sleep, there's more than enough room and they'll be nice and warm.
Off the dining area is the movie room where you can snuggle up of an evening or on a rainy afternoon and watch a film on the huge screen; grab bowls of crisps and popcorn and get comfy. Doors open onto the garden if you need to pop out for a breath of fresh air.
Upstairs is the part-galleried living room, overlooking the kitchen to one end; to the front are views of the wide open fields and the Blackdown Hills beyond. Settle down on the sofas and watch TV, or find a cosy corner to sit and chat. Next to the sitting room is the games room, a great place to hang out and play pool or table football, and with a wall of built-in bookshelves, it doubles up as a library. Next to this is Bedroom 1, a spacious room that can sleep 4 people, with beds arranged as a super king and two singles, or as four singles. It's a great room for a family, or for 4 older children sharing, and it has a good sized ensuite wet room.
Back downstairs in the hallway there are 4 more bedrooms off to the right, all bright and airy with views over the open countryside. Bedroom 3 has zip and link beds and Bedroom 4 has a king size bed and a single; between them is a shared Jack and Jill bathroom accessed directly from both rooms, with a big corner bath and an overhead shower. Bedroom 5 has a king size bed and a single, and Bedroom 6 has zip and link beds; these rooms share a Jack and Jill shower room.
To the front of the house is the walled garden which leads round to the patio outside of the kitchen. The young 'uns will be happy running about on the lawn and playing on the swings, but you'll all be happy at Dustings because that's how it is here – it’s a house for all ages, with plenty to keep you entertained throughout your stay.
