East Quantoxhead, Somerset

At East Quantoxhead in the Quantock Hills there's a tiny village centred around a duck pond and an old mill, a characterful rambling manor house with a church right next to it, medieval barns and the cosiest thatched cottages. This is stepping back in time – utterly tranquil and yet it’s just of the A39, at the edge of the Bristol Channel. Walk from the village, along the cliff tops to the beach, with wave cut platforms, sand and rocks, or to Kilve and back and see the chantry ruins.
