Fareham, Hampshire
Fareham is a lively Hampshire town on the coast between Southampton and Portsmouth. With over 300 shops, and plenty of busy cafes, restaurants and pubs, you can imagine that the atmosphere is very buoyant, and in true traditions of a market town, it’s big on markets. There’s an open air one with over 50 stalls every Monday, a Farmer’s Market on the first Saturday of each month, and in the spring, a Gardener’s Market. Stroll around, fill your basket, soak up the ambience, admire the characterful historic buildings on the high street, find somewhere nice for lunch – they say The Fareham, Villa Romana and Truffles Restaurant are all very good.
Nearby are Portchester Castle and Titchfield Abbey.
