Turn off the leafy lane, through the electric gates onto the gravel drive, and there’s Goldway, pristine and perfect, waiting for you to step inside. Here’s where your luxury large group holiday in the UK begins, so in you go, through the double oak doors to a wide reception hall, living room to the left, Bedroom 8 to the right, the open tread stairs straight ahead, and beyond, the kitchen/breakfast room.
This is a house that’s uber cool, sleek and sophisticated, and so fresh and airy; natural light pours in through full height doors, seeking out even the darkest corners, and there’s flow, such flow. Rooms are seamlessly connected via oak and glass doors and pale tiled floors – beneath them there’s heating to keep your tootsies toasty in the winter. There’s lots of white, with bright splashes of colour popping up in all the right places, and fun art on the walls; it’s the perfect vibe for laid back group holidays with friends and family.
Pad through to the sitting room, sink your toes into the plush carpet, pick a sofa, and sofa and put your feet up. On warmer days open the doors to the garden, bring the sunshine in; when it’s cold, get snuggly for a movie night. Go through to possible the slickest kitchen/breakfast room you’ve ever seen; a humongous central island means heaps of space for slicing and dicing, or for private caterers to work when they’re serving up a scrumptious celebration feast for you. In front of the full height doors the breakfast table is where you’ll linger over coffee and croissants, the morning breeze drifting lazily in on days full of promise.
Just along the way there’s a utility room with laundry facilities, and then the dining room; a hot pink wall to one side, bifold doors at either end, in the middle of the room a long T-shaped table and benches. Savour those holiday dinners, moonlight tripping into the room as you chat into the night.
Next to the dining room is the games room/TV snug, the perfect place to chill over a game of pool or your favourite film. Lounge on the super-sized bean bag, so relaxed. And then the icing on the cake, the pool room where you can splash and lol to your heart’s content, loving those happy holiday feels. Pull back the doors to the terrace, let outdoors-indoors roll together. Sing as you shower, towel yourself dry, thrash out a game of ping-pong in the table tennis room at the end of the pool hall.
Back off the hall, Bedroom 8 sleeps 4, great for families or friends; off the kitchen there’s a loo and Bedroom 9 with snooze space for 3. Upstairs on the right is Bedroom 1, sleeping 3, with an ensuite bathroom and a balcony overlooking the garden. On the left is Bedroom 2, along the landing are Bedrooms 3, 4 and 7, all sleeping 2. Bedrooms 5 are reached via stairs from the games room/TV room; between them they sleep 6 and share a bathroom.
Outside you can enjoy the sunshine with barbecues on the terrace or picnics on the lawn. The huge gardens are secure and private with lush hedging, tall trees, flowerbeds, a water feature, and several seating areas.
