Gorse Hill and Elbury Mount Local Nature Reserve, Worcester, Worcestershire
Worcester certainly isn’t without its green spaces; places where you can walk the dog and just have a bit of peace and quiet away from the flurry of the city centre. Gorse Hill and Elbury Mount Local Nature Reserve is one such place and because these hills are the highest point in the city, the views are incredible, stretching across to the Malvern Hills. So, what’s there? Well, nothing out of the ordinary but you can get a decent walk in; footpaths wind through woodlands with mature oaks, open grassland and gorse. You might hear the cry of buzzards soaring high above you, spy a slow worm slithering into the undergrowth, and windflowers nodding their heads on the spring breeze.
