Greyfriars' House & Garden, Worcester, Worcestershire
Right in the the centre of Worcester, Greyfriars' House & Garden is a National Trust owned medieval merchant’s house with a peaceful walled garden, so it's a quite a lovely way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city streets and shops. Go for a guided tour (it will only take about an hour) and see the fascinating artefacts, most of them slavaged and restored by an eccentric brother and sister who were dedicated to Greyfriars. There is what must be the UK's best collection of doorstops - 50 or more of them, all rescued from a local foundry when it closed down - among them the unusual Punch & Judy doorstops.
Before you leave go and browse the second hand bookshop and stop by at the cafe for a slice of cake and a pot of tea.
Opening times vary throughout the year, so you'd be wise to check the website before you plan your visit.
