Ham Bottom - Accommodation
You'll feel all your worries drift away the minute you step in through the door at Ham Bottom; this is a house for luxury togetherness, big on features, with elegant modern interiors. Straight ahead is the games room with a pool table and table football, a big TV and sofas to comfy up on for movie nights; with the kitchen/dining room right next door you won't have far to go for refills of popcorn. The whole living and entertaining area is so sociable; cook and chat, sip a cocktail at the bar, nip off for a game of pool - brilliant!
The kitchen has everything you need to take the stress out of cooking for your large group; the dining area has a long table for chirpy breakfast times, relaxed lunches or happy dinners; it comfortably seats your whole group and there's soft lighting to add to the ambience. Off the dining area is a lobby leading to a utility room and WC. Beyond this is the pool hall, an amazing space with the pool centre place and a sauna and shower to one end. There’s room for loungers, and when it’s hot out you can push back the huge bi-fold doors to let the sunshine roll in for a relaxed holiday vibe.
To the left of the games room are Bedrooms 1 and 2, both access friendly with TVs and ensuite wet rooms. A wide staircase in the games room takes you upstairs to the living room, which has a very gentle ambience that entices you to curl up on the sofa and spend a while reading your book, or to sit quietly chatting and enjoying the glorious views across the valley. Open the full height doors, step out onto the balcony, it’s a lovely spot for morning coffee or for an evening drink as the sun slips below the horizon. We love how this room is light and bright in the summer yet takes on such a warm homely glow on dark winter nights when it’s all nice and cosy by lamplight.
Off to the left of the living room are Bedrooms 3 and 4 and to the right, Bedrooms 5 and 6. Bedrooms 3 and 5 both have room for an extra guest bed (charged) and have ensuite bathrooms with a bath, TV and separate wet area for showering. Bedrooms 4 and 6 have ensuite wet rooms. The beds at Ham Bottom are super comfy and are all zip and link, so you can have them arranged as super kings or twins, it’s up to you.
Outside, the 2 acre grounds are surrounded by beautiful countryside so you’ll have peace and quiet and plenty of fresh air. Gather for laid-back barbecues on the patio, play family games on the lawn, watch the young ‘uns having fun on the climbing frame and bouncing about on the trampoline. Slip into the hot tub and hopefully you can just sit there and watch the little clouds drift by, but if it starts to rain, no worries, just pull the cover over. A few strides away is the BBQ lodge, all cosy with twinkly lights to sit beneath. Get together out there to toast marshmallows, swap stories and have a sing-song. Ham Bottom has something for all ages, so we completely understand when guests don't feel the need to go out anywhere; we were more than happy here, they tell us.
