Hunt Fun Taunton Trail, Taunton, Somerset
Hunt Fun Taunton Trail is a great way to explore Taunton, especially if you’ve got children with you – no groans of “I’m bored!” as you go from shop to shop – this is interactive fun for the whole family. Think of it is a self-guided treasure hunt, one that’s already been written for you. All you have to do is download your booklet or order a printed version to be sent by post and then you’ve got everything you need – a map, directions, clues, even the answers (but no cheating!).
The hunt starts at the Visitor Centre in the town centre and takes you along the River Tone to one of Taunton’s historic churches and the ancient castle and onwards. Allow at least 2 hours, longer if you want to stop off at any of the attractions you pass enroute or stop for something to eat. On that note, either take a picnic and head to Vivary Park, or go to The Cosy Club or Wildwood Restaurant in the town centre.
