Longslade Bottom, Brockenhurst, New Forest, Hampshire

Who doesn’t like a walk in the woods, especially in autumn when the ground is thick beneath your feet with fallen beech leaves, all kinds of fungi are popping up everywhere, and you know that wonderful earthy smell you get when you walk in a forest? Yeah, that, it’s just awesome to be out there, breathing it in, feeling at one with nature. You can do walks long or short at Longslade Bottom near Brockenhurst, beneath the trees or out on the wide open heath where New Forest ponies contentedly graze, and don’t worry about the hill because if you take your time, it’s nothing and the climb is rewarded by sweeping views of the landscape in this beautiful part of the world.

One thing though, people like it here and it’s a popular place for dog walking, so sometimes, it gets busy...
