Lydney Park Spring Gardens, Lydney, Gloucestershire
These beautiful gardens lie in the Forest of Dean, between Gloucester and Chepstow. It really is quite a joy to come here on a warm day in Spring; the whole garden seems to burst into blossom - cherries, magnolias, rhododendrons, and a myriad spring bulbs, and the air is full of their delicate fragrance. Take your time strolling around the gardens and 8 acre woodland; go and see the ruins of the Roman temple; enjoy the tranquillity. Dogs are welcome on a lead and there is a little tea room. Groups and guided tours can be accommodated by prior arrangement.
