Mason’s Arms Hotel and Restaurant, Williton, Somerset

Good service, tasty food and excellent value for money seem to be the buzzwords from people who have dined at the Mason’s Arms Hotel and Restaurant in Williton. The building is lovely, centuries old with a heavy thatch and tall chimneys. They’re very accommodating with big groups, the atmosphere is all nice and friendly and on the whole, there’s a big sense of it being just how traditional British pubs ought to be, and the punters seem to like that. The food is homemade pub fare with classics and specials and it gets good reviews – Pan fried seabass, crushed new potatoes, parsnip puree and fine beans with a caper and raisin dressing, Pan fried duck breast, duck leg croquette, carrot puree, beetroot and asparagus, 10oz rump steak with all the trimmings, Strawberry Eton Mess, Baked raspberry cheesecake. Sounds alright, doesn’t it?
