Montpelier District, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

The Montpelier District is one of Cheltenham’s destination areas, known for its shopping, art galleries and places to eat. It has lots of glorious Regency architecture, including the Rotunda, now home to The Ivy Cheltenham, and the grandly curved Montpelier Wine Bar; Montpelier Walk is graced with statues, known as caryatids, modelled on the Acropolis in Rome – the result is a distinctly European vibe, with people sitting outside of café and bars happily chatting in the sunshine.

Go and have a wander round and soak up the relaxed feels, take a stroll around Montpelier Gardens, go for brunch at Lazy Graze or an elegant afternoon tea at Victoria’s.
