Mudeford Sandbank, Mudeford, Christchurch, Dorset
Dogs are allowed on certain parts of the beach all year here so if you’re out pootling about when you’re on your large group holiday in the New Forest and you’re over this way, stop off and go and have a play on the sands, a run along the shore, get that tail wagging with delight.
There’s parking and loos, a shop, even a land train and a passenger ferry (because it’s what you call a ‘spit’ adjoining the headland, forming a natural barrier between the harbour and the sea). One thing Mudeford Sandbank is well known for is the price of its beach huts – there are about 300 of them here, all different colours, and some of them fetch over £250,000!
If the sea air makes you hungry go to the Beach House Café.
