National Portrait Gallery, London
The National Portrait Gallery in London houses the biggest collection of portraits in the world, with over 215,000 works of art, get that. See portraits form the 16th century to the present day, among them are paintings, drawings, miniatures, sculptures, prints and photographs of kings and queens, princes and princesses, aristocrats, bishops, actors, politician. You name them, their portraits are here, from Henry VIII, Elizabeth 1, the Archbishops of Canterbury, and Winston Churchill to Virginia Woolf, Dame Christabel Pankhurst, Margot Fonteyn and Kate Moss.
There are also regular exhibitions and learning activities for families, if you’re planning on allowing for a bite to eat there’s a café and a restaurant and bar that has amazing views of the city.
