This place is great. A quirky old building almost at the top of East Street in Ilminster, with lots of little rooms full of antiques and vintage delights in every nook and cranny, and tables where you can sit down and have coffee and cake or something more substantial from the lunch menu. The food is good; things like Harissa Roasted Tomatoes on toasted Sourdough with Wilted Spinach and a Poached Egg, and Asparagus, Pea and Cheddar Tart with house salads, yum yum. Out the back there’s a little courtyard which is quite a suntrap; you know, the whole place just feels so nice and relaxed. The big fat cheese scones are irresistible and if it’s there you should definitely try the lemon and poppy seed cake.
