Noah's Ark Zoo Farm, Wraxall, Bristol, Somerset
We have to say, Noah's Ark Zoo Farm near Bristol makes for a brilliant family day out, so pop it on your list for when you're on your large group holidays in the UK. Fair enough, the Somerset countryside is possibly the last place you'd expect to see exotic beasts like tigers, lions, giant anteaters, African elephants and white rhino, but here they are, among the 100+ species who live here contentedly grazing, wallowing in the mud and whatever else it is they like to do.
There are farm animals too, so go and say hello to them and they might come over and let you stroke them. If you go to the shop and buy a bag of feed you can even give them their lunch, no doubt cementing your new found friendship a little further. When it comes to your lunch you can head to The Food Barn or one of the snack shacks, or if you take a picnic, get settled at one of the benches (sun parasol included).
As if it isn't exciting enough for the litt'luns seeing the animals, there are also terrific play and adventure zones including a Bounce Park, Bigger Diggers, Wallaby Hill, Mega Monster & Mini Maze, and indoor play areas for the tinies.
And it's good to know that when you visit Noah's Ark Zoo Farm you're doing your bit for the environment as they have big green ethics here - all packaging is compostable where possible, food is sourced locally and they sell a lot of Faritrade stuff. All focused on the sustainable, excellent.
