Plymouth Hoe, Plymouth, Devon

You should definitely spend a day in Plymouth whilst on your large group holidays in the UK, and if you do, be sure to go to Plymouth Hoe, the park where Sir Francis Drake famously played bowls before setting off to defeat the Spanish Armada in 1588. Plymouth Hoe is a naturally formed harbour with breath taking views and a wide expanse of lawns where people relax and have picnics. There’s a lighthouse you can visit, Smeaton’s Tower and the fabulous Art Deco Tinside Lido that’s open to the public in the summer, and throughout the year there are several exciting events, with one of the best being the spectacular British Firework Championships.
