At Ponte Vecchio in Hereford the aim is to recreate the passion of the Italian family table, along with the charm and intimate atmosphere of a venue in Florence held dear by the family who run this restaurant. The feels are that of a small and local restaurant that holds its place within Hereford’s renowned food scene.
Needless to say, the food is both excellent and authentic, with the pasta dishes on the autumn menu including Tagliatelle, pork, cabbage and caraway seed ragu, Spinach gnocchi, kale, fennel and smoked almond pesto, homemade ricotta and Luganega sausage, chard, puy lentil and tomato gratin. Desserts are mouthwatering, with a selection of homemade gelato, Baked yogurt, fig and damson compote and Espresso crème caramel, pistachio and dark chocolate biscotto. Menus change with the seasons making the most of the abundant produce to be found from local suppliers and speciallity ingredients sourced from Italy.
A pre-ordered takeaway service is also offered at Ponte Vecchio, the homemade gelato comes in a choice of flavours in cones or tubs.
