Introduction
Pound Farm is a beautifull renovated farmhouse on the edge of a quite village in Somerset. It sleeps up to 21 people in 8 en suite bedrooms and has a games room, indoor swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and children's play area.
Pre-Arrival
By car - You will find detailed directions in the check in information that can be viewed after you have made a booking.
By train - The nearest train station is at Taunton, approximately 6 miles away. There are taxis available from the station.
By bus - The nearest bus station is at Taunton, approximately 6 miles away. The Route 28 bus runs every 30 minutes, or you can book a taxi to bring you to Pound Farm.
Groceries can be delivered by Asda, Sainsburys, Tesco, Waitrose and COOK by pre-ordering on line. Please make sure that all grocery deliveries are scheduled for AFTER your arrival at Pound Farm.
NB: No ramps or access equipment is supplied at this property.
Key Collection, Welcome and Car Parking
The key to the property is held in an external key safe next to the main entrance door. Details of the key safe combination will be given prior to arrival.
All keys are the responsibility of the rental guests and we advise that you always use the key safe during your stay.
All guests will be welcomed by a property owner and will be given a tour.
A private single track driveway leads to Pound Farm and to a tarmac parking area that has enough room for 8 cars .
There is a gravel path to the front door from the parking area.The paths are well lit at night by light sensor lights.
Entrance to Property
There is a step into the entrance of 100mm.
The front door is 1m wide.
Lights are pendant lights, floors are flagstone, so are uneven.
Halls, Stairs, Landings, Passageways
The main stairs are carpeted and are 840mm wide.
All ground floor hallways have flagstones, landing areas and bedrooms are carpeted.
Sitting Room/Lounge
Access to the lounge areas is via the main entrance hall.
The doorway is 1m wide and the room measures 4.65m x 6m.
There are 6 inset spotlights.
The floor surface is wooden floorboards.
The room has a mixture of chairs and sofas.
There is a television with remote control and option for subtitles/audio description.
The area is well lit during the day by natural light.
Kitchen
The room measures 4.3m x 6m.
The floor is the same level from the dining room.
The flooring is flagstone
The room is lit by spotlights.
Dining Area
The dining room is accessed from the hall
The doorway from the hall to the dining toom is 850mm wide.
The room measures 5m x6m
The doorway from the dining room to the kitchen is 760mm wide.
The floor is wooden floorboards
There is 1 centre pendant light and 2 side lamps.
Bedrooms and Sleeping Areas
All bedrooms except Bedrooms 2 and 5 have zip and link beds that can be arranged as superkings or twins.
Bedrooms 2 and 5 have double beds.
There are TVs in all rooms.
All bedroom floors are carpeted
The lighitng in the bedrooms is pendant lights and side lamps.
Bedroom 1 - (door width 2' 8") is on the first floor of the main house and measures 20' x 15'. It has an en suite shower room measuring 4' x11' with a door width of 2' 6". An optional extra guest bed is available at an additional charge.
Bedroom 2 - (door width 2' 3") is on the first floor of the main house and measures 10' x 12'. It has an en suite shower room measuring 6' 6" x 8' with a door width of 2'.
Bedroom 3 - (door width 2' 8") is on the first floor of the main house and measures 10' x 10' 5". It has an en suite bathroom with an overhead shower. The room size is 6' x 6' and the door width is 2' 5".
Bedroom 4 - (door width 2' 4") is on the first floor of the main house and measures 10' x 12'. It has an en suite bathroom with an overhead shower. The room size is 8' 9" x 7' 4" and the door width is 2' 3".
Bedroom 5 - (door width 2' 3") is on the first floor of the main house and measures 12' x 11'. It has an en suite bathroom with an overhead shower. The room size is 5' 5" x 7' 5" and the door width is 2' 3".
Bedroom 6 - (door width 2' 6") is on the first floor of the main house accessed via a second stairway rising from the kitchen. The room measures14' x 18' and has an en suite shower room and separate WC. The shower room is 5' 4" with sliding doors.
Bedroom 7 - (door width 2' 6") is on the first floor of the converted barn to the rear of the farmhouse. It is accessed via stone steps, and it measures 14' x 13'. It has an en suite shower room measuring 4' 5" x 8' with a door width of 2' 3". An optional extra guest bed is available at an additional charge.
Bedroom 8 - (door width 3' 3") is on the ground floor of the converted barn to the rear of the farmhouse. There is a small step over the threshold into a room measuring 18' 13'. There is an en suite shower room measuring 5' 13" with a door width of 2' 3". An optional extra guest bed is available at an additional charge.
Games Room
The room measures 4m x 6.5m
The floor is tiled.
There are 3 pendant lights.
Garden
There is a paved patio area 13 x 6m which can be accessed the back of the property.
There is outdoor seating for 18.
There is a lawn area 10 x 20m with play equipment (2 swings and a rope ladder) at the back of the property.
The front garden is level and is 21m x 34m.
Hot Tub
The hot tub accommodates 6 people. It has a diameter of 2.5m and a depth of 1m.
It is a sunken hot tub with just 300mm above ground level, and is surrounded by decking and paving.
NB: Children must be supervised at all times.
Sauna
The sauna is sited in a separate building in the rear courtyard
It measures 1.75m x 2.4m.
There is a changing area measuring 1.55m x 2.4m
NB: The sauna is NOT suitable for children or women who are pregnant.
Swimming Pool
The pool is housed in a separate barn accessed via the rear courtyard.
There are 4 wooden steps (200mm high) into the pool area; the entrance is 800mm wide with spotlights.
The access around the pool is a minimum width of 1.2m widening to 1.9m.
The pool measures 10m x 3.3m and is a constant depth of 1.3m.
There are corner steps into pool.
There is a seating area 3.6m x 4.6m to one side of the pool.
NB: Children must be supervised at all times
