Queen Anne’s Café on the Strand, Barnstaple, Devon
Queen Anne’s Café on the Strand is something you’ll want to be a part of if you’re mooching about in Barnstaple on your large group holidays in North Devon. The atmosphere is a very upbeat one, in the summer people sit outside of the historic collonaded building that has been a public bath, Masonic Lodge and a Heritage Centre in its previous guises. These days it’s a bustling café, family run, serving food all day, fully licensed and kicking off early doors with cooked breakfasts that they carry on dishing up all day. Sit indoors or outdoors in the sunshine, or under cover, and let the young ‘uns loose in the kid's corner whilst you relax and keep an eye on them.
Choose from a good range of sandwiches, toasted or not, and mains like Gammon, egg and chips, Fish Chowder, Burger, chips and salad, baked potatoes and daily fish specials. They have a good kids' menu that features a lunchbox, pizza and macaroni cheese.
