Redbrook, Monmouth, Monmouthshire
A village on the borders of Gloucestershire and Monmouthshire on the River Wye. You can stroll along the banks of the river to Redbrook in under an hour. The scenery is beautiful and the village was once a busy industrial centre with 13 inns and 3 breweries. Now there are only two pubs – The Bell Inn on the English side and The Boat at Penallt on the Welsh side, but it’s lovely so you should cross over the disused railway bridge and go there for a pint or some of their delicious home cooked food. You’ll see plenty of walkers here as Offa’s Dyke Path and the Wye Valley Walk both run through the village.
