Salisbury Racecourse, Salisbury, Wiltshire
Ever been to the races? If you have you’ll know what a great day out it can be; there’s quite an atmosphere of excitement, anticipation and everyone seems to be in high spirits. So if you’re staying nearby get yourselves down to Salisbury Racecourse.
This is a Flat Race course, with meetings from April to October each year; it’s surrounded by gorgeous Wiltshire countryside and there’s a wonderful view of the cathedral. Apparently, racing has gone on here since the 16th century.
They usually have plenty by way of family entertainment and there’s quite a choice of indoor and outdoor eateries, including bars and two restaurants. The racecourse is only 3 miles southwest of Salisbury and easy to get to; it’s quite a thrill to be there among the action, with everyone shouting and cheering on their horses, and it’s fun for families, bunches of friends and for corporate groups. If you’re celebrating a special occasion or providing a spot of corporate hospitality, you could push the boat out and hire a private box.
