Sandleigh Tea Rooms and Garden, Croyde, North Devon
With the backdrop of steeply rising cliffs and the beach just across the road, Sandleigh Tea Rooms in Croyde makes a lovely setting for lunches and afternoon teas. Inside it’s all fresh and light; outside the pretty walled gardens are a delight; roses scrambling up the walls, borders spilling over with a myriad of flowers, neat rows of vegetables, peas and beans twined around canes. Everything is locally sourced or homegrown and on the menu, you’ll find things like jacket potatoes, sandwiches, savoury tarts, salads and homemade soup, as well cakes and traditional Devon Cream Teas. There’s a menu for the little ones. Allow time for a browse in the gift and homeware shop within the walled gardens.
