Ahoy there captains! Severn Expeditions offer self drive and skippered boat trips from Upton Marina, and what a lovely thing to do when you're enjoying a large group holiday in Worcestershire! Hire a motor boat and take to the waters of the River Severn; soak up the wonderful relaxing ambience, look out for wildlife - ducks dabbling, moorhens scooting, swans gliding by, and if you're very lucky you may even see the blue-green dart of a kingfisher or hear the plop of a water vole slipping into the water. You can go from Upton to Worcester or to Tewkesbury and back; just remember to wear appropriate clothes and shoes and to pack your sun cream, shades and a hat if it's a hot day. Small boats seat up to 4 people and large boats 7; hire is for full or half day and dogs can go too, though there is a small charge for this to cover cleaning.
Don't worry if you've never been behind the rudder, you'll get expert tuition on how to use the boat and stay safe on the river; lifejackets are provided of course, and if you opt for a skippered trip no doubt you'll get to know a bit about the area as you go along.
