Shalden Shooting School, Tiverton, Devon
There's a lot of fun to be had at Shalden Shooting School, especially for hen parties or for corporate groups, though there's no reason why families shouldn't give it a go either. They cater for shooters of all aptitudes, even people with no experience, and they offer one to one or shared lessons, and can accommodate wheelchair users. For experienced shots, they offer simulated game days that include refreshments and lunch supplied by a local pub.
The shooting grounds form part of a 22 acre plot consisting of beautiful countryside just south of Exmoor National Park, not far from Tiverton - wooded valleys filled with birdsong in the spring, and plenty of wildlife which doesn't seem to be too bothered by the shooting. Allow half a day or a full day for this exhilarating activity.
