Shepton Mallet, Somerset
With a history stretching back to Roman times, Shepton Mallet lies in a dip in the beautiful Mendip Hills, 18 miles south of Bristol. It's still got that ancient market town feel, with a centuries old market cross and a fine parish church with a quirky capped tower. Nearby is the Glastonbury Festival site and The Bath & West Showground.
