Sidmouth Folk Festival, Sidmouth, Devon
Every year since 1955, in the first week of August there’s a folk festival at Sidmouth and it pulls the visitors from far and wide with events of all shapes and sizes all over the town. There are big concerts, ceilidhs, folk dancing, storytelling, and workshops. You can barely walk into a pub or a café without finding a happy group of people making music, and it’s all supported by a plethora of West Country producers of crafts, food and drink in the Craft Village. Check out what’s on and buy tickets for individual events or turn up for the day and just go with the flow. It’s fun and it’s colourful, there’ll be lots of raggle-taggle, a few dreadlocks and no doubt a lot of pink hair.
