Spaxton, Somerset
A thriving village at the foot of the Quantock Hills, with a friendly community and some quaint cottages. There's a Post Office, shop, garage and pub. Its claim to fame is the Abode of Love, a bizarre religious sect that caused considerable scandal in the mid 19th century. There's a pleasant stroll around the village, starting from the church, which is nice to tie in with a visit to the Lamb Inn on a lighter evening.
