St. Audries Bay, Somerset
Take the family fossil hunting to this uniquely striking landscape of wave cut platforms and striated cliffs near Watchet on the Somerset coast; look closely and you may find ammonites in the rocks on the shore, and at low tide, you can see two waterfalls tumbling down the cliffs at the back of the beach. It’s one of those places where it’s great to spend some time on a windswept day late in the year, it makes going home to the fireside a little more special.
There are steps down to the beach from the car park.
