Stoke St Gregory, Somerset
Stoke St Gregory is a traditional village out on the Somerset Levels with two churches and a good pub, The Royal Oak, which is also home to the well stocked village shop and cafe, all run by the community. Basket making used to be a dominant industry in this area and if you visit Coates English Willow Visitors Centre you’ll see withies growing and you can buy a hand crafted basket, and have a slice of home made cake in the tea shop. The moors around Stoke St Gregory are rich in wildlife and have SSSI status; the county town of Taunton is just 7 miles away.
