Strawberry Tree, Lyme Regis, Dorset

The joy of sharing food is at the heart of the ethos at Strawberry Tree, a very lovely tapas bar and restaurant tucked away in a corner of the cobbled courtyard at Town Mill in Lyme Regis. Each dish is made from recipes infused with Spanish heritage, family spirit, and a big passion for cooking, just the way it should be.

Go for lunch, coffee and cake, or supper; choose from a very tempting tapas menu that features the likes of Turmeric roasted cauliflower with yoghurt and sumac, Morcilla black pudding with roasted spiced butternut squash and crispy sage, Cod cheeks in a rich tomato sauce, and Manchego cheese with quince paste.

Inside is cosy, informal seating with twinkly lights. Outside there’s a secluded garden which is a lovely spot for lunch on warmer days; on summer evenings it becomes a garden bar with lights, music, Spanish wines, drinks and bar snacks – and a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

They also do regular events and cooking classes at Strawberry Tree, which are a great idea for a night out, or for any budding chefs among you. Recent events include Seafood paella, lunch and olive oil tasting, Enriched breads, chocolate babka and Challah, and Macarons, Amaretti & Maronchino.

Strawberry Tree is dog friendly at lunchtimes.
