You won’t miss The Atmospheric Railway Inn because it’s right on the main road through Starcross, opposite the railway station and close to the Exmouth ferry terminal. Inside is very traditional village pub style, no fuss, no frills, but a warm friendly welcome and good homemade food, with mains like Chicken Fajitas wraps, Butchers sausages, bubble & squeak and fried eggs, Homemade pie of the day, and Pasta Arrabbiata. They have regular ‘nights’ - pizza night, burger night (Spicy chicken, Cajun chicken, Cheese n bacon, vegan burger), fish and chips night and steak night, and on Sundays they do a nice big roast with all the trimmings.
It's the kind of place where you can call in any time of year; go in the summer and enjoy a pint of the local ale in the beer garden where the kids will be happy in the play area; go in the winter after a walk along the estuary and you can warm your toes by the wood-burner, all nice and cosy.
