The Bear, Cobham, Surrey
The Bear has been offering sanctuary to the people of Cobham and to visitors since the 1700’s, so as you can imagine, it’s all rather charming with all the feel of a traditional country inn, albeit an upmarket one (that doesn’t mean expensive).
Inside it’s a stylish blend of old and quirky original features with modern furnishings and accessories, outside there are two very nice garden areas. Food is the best of British, with a very tempting brunch menu that has the likes of Bloody Mary baked eggs with spinach, Devon crab rarebit, and British chorizo & goose fat roast potato hash. On the lunch menu mains include Low and slow lamb shoulder Shepherd’s pie, Broad bean, mint & pea gnocchi, sage pesto and watercress, and Pork & leek sausages, mashed potato, spring greens and onion rings.
