The Brecon Beacons National Park

The Brecon Beacons National Park stretches from Llandeilo to Hay-on-Wye on the border of England and Wales. There is so much going on in these wild and rugged hills – a real pull for stargazing with the clear night skies; people come here to watch meteor showers. The more adventurous can go abseiling, rock climbing, caving, mountain biking, or get the adrenalin pumping with high action water sports. There’s walks of all lengths, whether it’s a half hour stroll or an all day hike, and you’ll find plenty to explore - nature reserves, open gardens, castles, lakes and canals, and there are attractive towns and villages to visit. Have a mooch about Abergavenny, a lively market town with an annual food festival; browse the narrow streets of Brecon with its independent shops, pubs and cafes, and bookworms should never miss a chance to go to Hay-on-Wye, with over 30 books shops where you can easily while away a few hours.
