The Captain’s Table, Bucklers Hard, Hampshire

When you’re having a leisurely day out at Bucklers Hard in the New Forest you’ll inevitably feel peckish at some stage; if you prefer a cafe setting to a pub, you should head to The Captain’s Table. In fact, if you get here early you can order a cooked breakfast - a nice start to your visit to this historic ship building village. Otherwise pop in for elevenses and have a cheeky slice of cake and a cup of fresh bean coffee, go for lunch - maybe an egg and bacon bap or a Pork pie Ploughman's, but best of all, surely, is to treat yourselves to a proper job cream tea in the afternoon. Freshly baked scones, clotted cream spread nice and thick, big dollops of jam, all washed down with a nice pot of tea.

If the sun has come out to play you can sit outside on the terrace and make the most of the good weather.
