The Dinosaur Museum, Dorchester, Dorset
Take a visit to The Dinosaur Museum in Dorchester and you’ll find yourself transported all the way back to prehistoric times. It’s all pretty hands on too, with fossils you can touch, and among them are dinosaur heads, teeth eggs, and poo – poo that's millions of years old!
There’s an excavation pit where you can unearth dino discoveries, there are puzzles to solve and if you’re brave enough, a feely box to put your hands in. You’ll see dinosaur skeletons and life-size reconstructions of monsters like Stegosaurus and T-Rex – in fact you can even hear the T-Rex and smell its breath – can you imagine?
The Dinosaur Museum is popular with families because the grown-ups find it fascinating and the kids, well, they love it. They can complete a fun sheet to win a Dino Hunter’s medal and no doubt you’ll have to put your hand in your pocket for them in the gift shop because they're bound to want a souvenir. Oh, but it’s worth it, well worth it.
