The Hideaway Cafe, Seaton, Devon
The Hideaway Cafe has the loveliest location, right on the beach, nestled between the cliffs at the end of West Walk Esplanade in Seaton. This former ice cream parlour has been lovingly transformed to become a light filled café with up to the minute furnishings, local art on the walls, and a very relaxed atmosphere. The ethos is bang on trend; the freshest produce sourced as locally as possible, and they are doing their bit for the environment by going plastic free; bamboo cutlery, Vegeware coffee cups, biodegradable lids.
Get there before 11.30am for breakfast; Full English, Bacon Sandwich, Porridge, Granola, and The Green – sourdough, avocado, spinach and poached egg with chilli flakes, are all on the menu.
For lunch choose from sandwiches, salads, Ploughmans and fresh tart of the day, or lighter bites like soup, mackerel pate, or halloumi fries. There’s a menu for kids and they serve hot and cold drinks and toast and cakes all day; dogs can have warm milk and a canine biscuit.
The perfect interlude to a day on the beach.
