The Lamb and Lion, Hambridge, Somerset
A country inn that’s retained plenty of character with flagstone floors, wooden beams and open fires. It’s on the backroads from Taunton and Ilminster to Langport so it’s worth thinking about as somewhere to stop off for lunch or dinner on your way to or from a day out.
The lunchtime menu offers pub classics, burgers, sandwiches and light bites like omelettes, salads and wraps; in the evening the pub classics and burgers remain with the addition of a bistro menu offering Aubergine, Chickpea & Butterbean Moussaka and Mediterranean Marinated Rack of Lamb among its temptations.
At the back the garden and terrace have far reaching views over the moors of this part of the Somerset Levels and it’s a nice place to sit and eat, or have a drink of a summers evening.
Families are welcome, dogs are welcome; in fact as long as you’re polite and well behaved, anyone is welcome.
