The Nags Head, Usk, Monmouthshire
Right on the town square in Usk, this pub dates back to the 15th century so people have been meeting here for centuries. These days the welcome is a warm one and the atmosphere is relaxed. In the summer the front of the pub is adorned with hanging baskets brimming over with colourful frothy flowers and if the weather is being kind you can sit out there and watch the world go by.
The menu is very varied and caters well for vegetarians, with specials, depending on the time of year, such as locally reared and shot guinea fowl, partridge and pheasant. Ingredients are fresh, local and seasonal and of course, all the food is homemade.
