What you’d call a classic country pub, this one, in Lyndhurst; everyone is welcome as long as you behave yourselves – ramblers, riders, families, four legged friends. The atmosphere is very convivial, there’s a good selection of local ales, wines and spirits, and the food is pub favourites with a modern twist. They like to keep it real and keep it local so produce is locally sourced, as is usually the way these days. Let’s take a lookie at the main menu: some good sharers like a fish platter with smoked salmon, fish goujons and prawns, and another with hummus, babaganoush, olives, feta and ginat butterbeans; venison casserole, peanut crusted Chicken, Spiced Yoghurt Shoulder of South Coast Lamb, and sweet potato, chickpea & spinach curry. Sounds good, give it a go.
